I've been to what I can recall five weddings in my life. My Uncle Jimmy's when I was 10. My college friend Jeremy's in the late nineties. His sister Steph's in what I believe was 2000/2001. My high school chum Remo's a couple years ago, and now my friends Paulie and his Lovely Lady's last night.

Hooch and I played Santo and Johnny's instrumental song Sleepwalk for the first dance. It was really cool. The bride and groom came into the hall to Andrew WK's Party Hard and then danced to our version of Sleepwalk.

During the very tasty dinner we sang songs of love to get the couple to kiss. I didn't get many pics but I did manage to get the ladies at my table practicing their tunes into the silverware.

After dinner we ate ice cream cake ice cream filled crepes and the ladies danced the night away.

Oh and seeing as we had the band together in same room looking all perty, we got a few pics of us too.

Kudos to the happy couple and best wishes for a long and fruitful marriage!

My Legs Hurt
2010/01/26 09:42

I started playing indoor soccer again.

Last night I scored my first goal since 1987. That was the last time I played for my local team. We won 4-4 on penalties. I forgot how much I love playing. In high School I was focused on music and arts and didn't play at all. During college I was the play-by-play guy on local TV for the St. Catharines Wolves, but again never walked on the pitch to play. Post college I opened my business and was busy with my band.

Now that I can take months off at a time its perfect. I can find a night a week to play, and two days a week to be sore!

On an unrelated note. Amigo wants Kori's BIO-K supplement. Hes not getting any though.

I replaced our smashed up Mercedes E Class today with a Land Rover.

IMG_4500

Its a Discovery II.

A lifted, box framed, bob-tailed, big tyred, monster with a 9000lb winch, spot lights, and brush guards!

IMG_4545IMG_4544

Kori can run over all the medians she likes now and hardly notice it.

Medians or mail boxes or bus shelters or Volkswagens or churches or communists...

IMG_4507

you get the idea.

IMG_4503

This is my 3rd Land Rover. I had a Series 1 Discovery and a Range Rover in the past. Loved them, I forgot how much fun they were.

Winter Blah Blah Blah...

The insurance company provided me with a car to temporarily replace my smashed up car.

Its a 2010 Ford Fusion.

IMG_4419

Its a bit "plasticy" inside. OK its very "plascticy" inside. Its like driving around in my recycling bins. The rear window is too small too, so you can't really see who is behind you unless they are 50 feet behind you. Which will never happen because its too slow to get 50 feet in front of anything.

I was running some errands yesterday and I was at a stoplight next to a dump-truck full of sand. My lane ended just ahead of the lights and when the light went green I struggled to overtake the it! A fully weighted dump-truck gave the Ford Fusion a run for its money off the line. I'm not joking, I think I'd have passed it easier if I HAD been driving my recycle bin. Its only saving grace is its Sirius satellite radio...

I'm probably going to be enjoying more time off this month and maybe next. Which will be nice. The weather here is foul.

Snowy, dark, cold, bleak, ect. Its nice not having to go out in it for any real reason. The office says I'll be on the road come late Feb - early March.

So... for the next little while I will:

1. spend some time with these pups

IMG_4359

2. Continue learning to speak German.

3. Play some World of Warcraft (Dragon Age: Origins was a disappointment so I reactivated my WoW subscription)

4. Watch Setanta

5. Get tattooed. I really need to finish my chest piece and move on to finally finishing my back

That is all.

Oh and for some reason the Bank of America thinks I'm a secret agent.

I think I've said too much...

Going Out With A Bang!
2010/01/02 13:55

Kori smashed the car to bits on New Year's eve. Thankfully she's fine and it was a single car incident. She lost control on some ice and careened over a median and through a snowbank.

IMG_4322 IMG_4323

She punctured both passenger side tyres, crushed the lower grille and front splitter. The oil pan was ripped off and thus the motor is blown because she left it running. The hood is buckled as well.

I drove over there and she was shaken up, but thats all. The police brought her home while I waited for the tow truck. Once I got home we had a nice albeit late dinner. We spent a quiet evening in, and were in bed by 12:01!

Time to go car shopping! What should I get???? hmmmm.

Year in Review
2009/12/31 11:36 2009.
