2010/04/02 01:27 on top until April 2 - new entries below
So it seems like I get to help out a bit with organizing the 2010
Dallas suscon, which is scheduled to happen from April 2 to April 4. As
I have gotten a sweet deal on a house and apparently got everyone from
and to the airport all safely last time I am now responsible for
accommodations and transportation for the 2010 edition.
Well, today I got a call from the agent who was supposed to rent me a
bunch of vacation homes and told me that I'd need to decide and commit
NOW or everything would be snatched up by someone else who was looking
to accommodate his wedding guests. So that's what I did - signed the
paperwork and wired the money, and now there's space for ca. thirty
people.

2010/02/04 02:47 or "was lange währt wird endlich gut". I finally did
receive a long-awaited package from Ania that's been in
transit for six weeks... But it was definitely worth the wait - it
contained an awesome book from renowned photographer Chris Rainier about "the
sacred origins of battoos and body marking". Fascinating! THANK
YOU SO MUCH!
I love what he had to say about the subject: "We are at a crucial
crossroads of human history. We are losing traditional cultures with
their ancient way of life and spiritual beliefs at catastrophic rates.
With my photography of the First Preoples of our fragile Planet, I hope
to show spiritual traditions from outr past in the present, - and
become part of the process in some small way way of helping preserve
life for future generations. I believe photogrphy plays a crucial role
in helping sustain and revitalize cultures on the edge.."
Click on the image to go to ancientmarks.com,
the
website for the book project:
And she also sent me
"The
Ultimate Workout Log: An Exercise Diary for Everyone". oops... so
now I have no excuse to NOT start getting fit and doing something about
my lazy-ass non-existing fitness routine. Gotta get in shape! Well,
when I feel better again, that is... being sick isn't fun (but the
drugs I got for that are, mmmh, DXM...)

2010/01/12 00:11 Well, everybody seems to have new years' resolutions. If there's
anything I'd want to do more consistent this year, it's updating this
thing here.
I've been in here for three years now (man, time certainly flies....)
but only very recently have gotten around to use this for what it is: a
community where like-minded people communicate with each other. I have met some anazing people in here and, you know, "virtual" friends become pretty real when sending and receiving packages with nice things to and from them!
So I think I should and will update more than in the past.
Totally bummed about the winter weather that's so prevailing in Europe
these days has thwarted my travel plans last weekend - no nice event
and no sharp pointy thingies in my skin this time around. Oh well,
another time, then... No thanks, Easyjet!
But there's good news: my organizational part in getting the Dallas
suscon up and running is almost done with. I got an amazing deal on a
group hotel and everything's now set... 80 days, and I can't wait!
And, seeing this may well be the last time I'll write in this thing
using the 'old' BME/IAM software platform I've come to get so accustomed to and appreciate, I'm getting a bit nostalgic here. Stumbling across this site in its current form did change the course of my life, after all so it and its creator will always have a special place within me.
I hope the "new" BME due to launch tomorrow will continue in the spirit of the old.
As we says around here - Der König ist tot, es lebe der König! I'll
definitely be sticking around!

2009/12/24 23:28 I really like the Christmas holiday period. As always, I'm spending the holidays with family and really love it. It's the only time of the year where everyone is coming together once again (we all live scattered across various countries). It certainly feels good.
I just want to say "thank you" to all my 'virtual friends' from this community who sent cards, messages and packages! Much appreciated!
And I hope I was able to put some smiles on faces as well.
Much love to everyone!

Went to see Rammstein the other night - in France, of all places. It's
really strange (but fun!!) to see all those French people (trying to)
sing along to the German lyrics :). The show was amazing and
spectacular, as always. Fun times!
I managed to sneak my new camera past security and was able to snap a
few good pictures and video (sample here - right-click and "save as", as it is 500MB!). Hooray for it being so nice and small! Anyway, I just love how good this thing is performing in low-light conditions like at suspension events :). Now I only need to learn how to use it properly. Those manual controls sure demand some skills...

2009/11/24 00:32 I've been unsuccessfully trying to upload the entry I meant to post
about the London suscon on the 15th which I attended. Keep getting
timeout errors... oh well... Am going to keep trying.
Anyway, I just wanted to say "thank you" to Alice and Benoit for their
hospitality and hosting it in the first place.
And I finally fully grasped that suspending from hooks in your skin can
be nothing
but fun, pure and unbridled - that was a totally new experience
to me,
and one which certainly will be repeated!
Another 'thank you' goes out to Davide for being my partner
in the fun on hooks, Emma for capturing
it and anyone else who was there for making this as nice as it was.
There's been a few awesome first -time experiences, too
:Congratulations to Tom
and Emma, among
others!
Anyway, here's a few pictures for your viewing pleasure. More (A LOT
more) to come as soon as I get this thing to post.... (click through to
embiggen!)
