Weirdos against Cancer
2010/01/24 21:58 So, in the past week I have lost a friend/coworker to liver cancer and my Great Uncle Wally to cancer. It has been a tough time but I am powering through it.

I am going to use this as even more motivation. In September of this year is the 3-day 60 mile Susan G. Komen cancer awareness walk/fundraiser. I believe this will be a great opportunity to challenge myself and raise awareness as well. I am looking in to creating a team and completing this walk.

I would love if you would like to join and/or donate. I am proposing a Weirdos Against Cancer team for all who would like to join.

new computer here I come
2010/01/21 17:39 So I was able to deduct the medical debt that I paid off this year from my taxes. Holy crap, it increased my refund by 2.5 times. Needless to say it makes me very happy. Instead of spending my entire return on a new laptop I can now spend less than half and still get the new Macbook Pro that I have been drooling over and put a bit in savings. Good thing Apple is releasing new stuff next week and I am sure it will take a couple weeks to get my refund.

Great weekend, need to rethink meals at home
2010/01/19 08:49 My weekend was pretty grand. Football on Sunday morning then out to Snoqualmie for a failed snow tubing adventure. It was still fun and we did get to walk around in the snow for a bit. Next time we know to leave earlier and be a little better prepared. As for the food intake, it has been great. I did slip and eat some Taco Bell yesterday and Panda Express on Sunday but overall I made wise choices at both places. It seems to be easier for me to eat healthy during the week as I have less free time. I will definitely be revisiting my home meal situation.

Slight changes
2010/01/16 13:18 I forgot to mention in my last post that even after only 2 days without soda, only drinking water, and truthfully monitoring my food I can already see a slight change in my stomach. Not that it is shrinking much, it just seems 'smoother' than it has. I guess flushing my system with water is getting rid of the nasty shit that hangs out near the surface. I am not complaining.
