I'm pushing 30 (not looking so purty), and am an aging alterna-youth who gave up his mohawk for the 40 hour 9-5. In my free time I travel as much as possible, go to punk shows, and let adventure be my guide.
Take a seat and i'll tell you a story.
Message me, I'll more than likely answer anything you ask...
With a goal like updating more often, I think I failed with going AWOL for the past 5 days.
It all moves pretty quick.
The east coast got hit with a metric sit ton of snow, and i still went to work. What's two feet a snow when there is overtime on the line and a rich guy wants a new projector for the Super Bowl?
The guy was nice, but it would have been nicer if he had shoveled his driveway. I say that because the van got stuck in the snow and it took us about an hour to get out. Of course that was really expensive for him because he was basically charged the $270 for us to shovel a little bit of his driveway and get our van out.
After that, i convinced my lady friend to brave the storm and come over. It was nice, even though i was exhausted and we went to bed early.
Sunday, we woke up early (due to going to bed early). I busted out the waffle maker and made us a wonderful sunday morning breakfast (Bucket enjoyed it, too and was served it in bed).
Lounged around for a bit and eventually headed up to NYC because i had two jobs to go to there on Monday morning.
I hooked up with Other Brian at 1228 Tattoo and sat and watched him get taught how to pierce. :)
I drove him back to his place and met up with Candace (who was trying to catch a predator) and met his room mate sara. I didn't stay long because i was seeing Allie while i was up there too. I actually ended up staying with her because i lost track of time with the two of us having too much fun on an interesting new website called, Chat Roulette
It's a site that randomly connects you to people with web cams. Most of them are drunk college kids, dudes with their shirts off, or guys jacking off.
It was fucking funny. Look for a book of our screencaps coming out soon.
Monday, work wasn't that bad. I worked in Uptown for most of the day and still can't fathom paying $37 for parking for a little over 2 hours. I took care of business in some really, really, really rich peoples' houses. At one the the houses i helped set up an AppleTV and saw pictures from Jaime Pressly's wedding. Odd.
One good thing is that the one is a job that will be going on for the next couple of months so i'll have good excuses to go to New York for the day.
After work, I headed to Queens and picked up Meg and we had dinner at one of her favorite restaurants in Chinatown. I made a poor dinner decision and she made a couple wonderful ones. We talked for longer last night then i think we'd ever spoken to each other for the years that i have known her. It was a nice night out, and it was wonderful to have fun conversations.
The ride back home was rough. I do not suggest eating a bunch of Chinese food and then driving 2 hours. Not a good time.
I made it home safe, did my push-ups for the week and read my book of the week and then went to bed.
Today was a rough day at work. Mostly because i was out of the office for a day and things that i needed to do just piled up. I finished the crucial stuff and will most likely finishing everything else tomorrow.
Of course we're probably going to be closed because of the evil snow coming, but that doesn't mean I have off. I have a job that means i can work from home.
Alright, time for some music, some reading and an early night.
It seems that i'm getting hosed by the internet again.
I look at my accounts online everyday and I found a fraudulent charge on my credit card today on Autotrader.com. Since the last time i got fucked i added a "fraud service" to my account so i don't have to go through hoops to get my money back.
So a portion of tomorrow will be spent with me figuring that shit out and trying not to get pissed off.
Why do people rob me when i have the most shit to pay for?
Friday night, I headed out to the bar to celebrate my friend Maria's birthday. It was a nice night out but i couldn't stand the bar too long. It's one of the only smoking bars in the area and i can't stand being there for too long. That and they were going to have a "Jersey Shore" night and that is unacceptable.
Called it an early night because it was a long week.
Saturday, I got up early and went to the movies with my roommate Jaime. We went and saw WHEN IN ROME. It wasn't the best movie in the world but it was decent enough.
My girlfriend came over a little after that and I made us a nice dinner. I bought frozen Bison steaks last weekend and was excited to make them. I tried my hand at making my first Bearnaise sauce and it came out pretty good. We then watched some terribly shitty movies with Bucket. I believe it was ROLL BOUNCE and WHIP IT.
Saturday we went to the Independent Seaport museum to see the SKIN AND BONES exhibit about the history of sailors and tattoos. It was a nice little piece and it had a lot of interesting little things.
After that we headed to Ambler for dinner for the surprise birthday dinner for Maria. A nice meal and it was fun to actually surprise someone for their birthday.
When we came home from dinner we sat in my room and listened to some of my record collection.
I really enjoyed sitting down and listening to music with her. We're actually planning on having a record date soon. It's actually kinda nice.
That money was going to go towards a trip to Florida and paying off the last little bit left to pay off my credit card.
Those are the breaks right?
I've had an awfully busy week, and i'm looking forward to this weekend to sit back and relax for a bit.
Yesterday was the most torturous day ever. I was in NYC all day. I was supposed to only have to work for about half the day, and then i was to be set free.
BUT, everything that could go wrong, went wrong and any surprise plans on my NYC friends were ruined and i had to head home without seeing anyone.
