A description? Well, my name is Rod (or Hot Rod, but Roderick is my actual real name...just not used very often!) I'm 30 (!), half Philippine, and live in wonderful Waverly, NE.
I used to build race car and street rod parts (I was a machinist/fabricator) for Speedway Motors, but I'm back in school (taking auto collision technology) so I can own my own hot rod shop, not work for some old, rich jackass piece of shit (long story!) So now I mostly just build stuff for my own toys. I'm mostly into 60's to 70's muscle cars and 20's-30's hot rods, but love drag cars, street rods, big-ass trucks, even getting into road racing. If it's American, V8 powered, and rear-wheel drive...I'll drive it! I build, modify, and maintain all the vehicles I own, can't stand the thought of someone else messin' up my ride...but not the biggest fan of breakin' stuff and only having myself to blame! Have quite a fleet, here's a few that are lurking around the shop currently: 98 Ranger, 70 Plymouth Roadrunner, 91 Mustang GT, 32 Ford sedan,30 Ford Model A sedan, 26 Chevy sedan, 3 23-25 Chevy trucks, 26 Whippet, 26 Ford Model T roadster and a 27 Ford Model T touring.
Music I like-basically anything that kicks ass and keeps me awake! Here's a few favorites: NIN, Alice In Chains, Marilyn Manson, Cradle of Filth, Lamb of God, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Rage Against The Machine, Ministry, KMFDM, Slipknot, Mastodon, Chimaira, Arch Enemy, Messugah, Six Feet, Under, Dimmu Borgir, Deicide, Slayer, Pantera, Sepultura, Soulfly, Type O Negative, Rob Zombie, Mortiis, Napalm Death, Iggy Pop, Prodigy, Cannibal Corpse, Biohazard, Anthrax, System of a Down, Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall, Arch Enemy, The Black Dahlia Murder, Korn, Soundgarden, White Zombie, Gun's n' Roses, Faith No More, etc...
I'm also pretty big into all things Nintendo (never really got into newer systems all that much.) I've currently got my original NES from 1987 (yeah, I'm old!), trying to build up a pretty good selection of games for it, I'm up to about 300 cartridges currently. For Super Nintendo I've got about 30 games. Also have a Nintendo 64, but only have about 20 games for that (years ago my old druggie roommates pawned off a bunch of my games, assholes!) My girlfriend just got me a Gamecube for my birthday (March 2009) and we've been enjoying that quite a bit (like I said, I'm not into newer systems much, too many buttons and all, but I'm really liking games like Metroid Prime and Resident Evil 4!)
I used to be a body jeweler at Caspian Body Jewelry, worked there over a year since I needed an easy job for while in school. Kinda miss that job, met a lot of good people there (and playing around with body jewelry all day was fun!) Nowadays I work at a sandblasting and painting business, get to work on all kinds of old cars and whatnot. Been into piercings and tattoos a long time, but sadly it's been awhile since I've received anything...guess it's about time for some new ink! Currently have 4 8g lobes, 2 9/16th lobes, 8g lip, 8g helix, 14g industrial, 2 14g brows, 2g septum, 4g tongue, 8g nips, 16g smiley, a Mr. Horsepower tattoo and my NIN tattoos - I know I'm forgetting something, just can't think of much now! The retired list: 3 14g nape piercings :(

About time for a post!
2009/07/01 00:37 Just noticed I haven't posted anything since last year, figured it's about time to post something! Haven't been doing to much, lately... was laid off work a few months ago and am still looking for a new job. Still buying and selling video games and consoles (obviously mostly nintendo products), still having lots of fun with that. Kinda running out of bookcases to store all my games! lol I've been working with a couple lawyers gathering a case against my former job where I had the big accident last year... fucker still owes me half a years worth of wages, and all kinds of other problems. Yep, lifes been fun! :)
2008/11/26 14:28 Just got off work, getting ready to go see NIN! They're playing at the Mid American Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Gonna be a good night!
2008/10/02 17:04 Been such a shitty year, you always need something to make it feel better! Today in the mail, I received my reward for the crap year: got my NIN tickets today! Damn, I'm happy as a little school girl!
2008/09/23 18:06 As you've probably noticed I haven't been posting much at all lately, probably since I don't do all that much anymore other than drink with my nutty neighbors and play nintendo! lol Still going to physical therapy all the time for my wrist, hopefully will be done with that in a few weeks so I can get back to working! Last saturday I bought a couple tickets for NIN, they're going to be playing up in Council Bluffs, Iowa in november! Can't wait to see them again! Sunday morning was also pretty fun for me, went to a big auction in Lincoln. Strangely it wasn't for old car parts (which is what I usually hit up auctions for)... it was mostly old Husker memorabilia, toys, books, and stuff like that. The only thing I was interested in was video game stuff! I did end up getting another NES, a bunch of controllers, a nes advantage joystick, light guns, 21 or so games (including all the Mega Man nes games...score!), a power pad, an assload of PS1 controllers, and also a really nice and in the box Video Arcade II, which is basically an atari 2600 that was sold by Sears. Also got a bunch of art books and some cool paintings and stuff to hang around the house. Yup, pretty exciting! :)
2008/08/12 23:28 Well, here I am, still off work on disability! Getting some strength back in my wrist thankfully, my therapist said I might be back to work in a month or two! Been buying a lot of 8 bit nintendo games lately, still have my original NES from childhood working...and I always wanted to own all the games that were made, so I've been building up my collection. Girlfriend keeps calling me a nerd and making fun of the blocky graphics, but that's what I like...kinda goes with the times I grew up in, I guess! Plus, playing games seems to be a good workout for my wrist and hand! Good excuse...now to get back to some Zelda! :)
