2007/07/17 19:49 I have a job... a job that doesn't seem to care if I show up at work in a t-shirt and that I have 6 piercings above the neck. Oddly enough, one of my co-workers, who is about 57, also has an eyebrow piercing.
I also live in a pretty sweet house that's over 100 years old. It's way more house than I need, but the rent was a mere $650 per month for a 3-bedroom house with water, sewer, and garbage paid, along with a yard, and a shop that I don't use because why on earth would I need a shop... and a creepy cellar with nasty, ancient, home-canned fruit.
I'd like to get my nipples pierced soon, but that's problematic since I have an inherent distrust of non-APP piercers. I mean, I'm sure there are many wonderful non-APP piercers (the woman who did my nose was not a member, and it healed faster than any other piercing I've had), but I just feel safer going to a piercer who's a member. Aaand around here that means driving to Portland or Boise.
I am still editing my thesis (avoiding it at this very moment, in fact), although that should be done very soon. My advisor is still a dick, but I won't have to deal with him any more after this month. I won't even have to use him as a job recommendation much longer, I imagine.
Also, I think the Cubs exist solely to frustrate me.
2007/06/17 21:50 So, I got the job, and I am now busily looking for housing in Pendleton... I have appointments tomorrow to see 3 or 4 houses. One of them I'm really hoping I like because... I mean... dude... it's across from an old cemetery, and how cool is that?
Job also means more money for piercings and tattoos! Now my trowels shall finally come to be!
Job also hired me with all piercing jewelry that I currently wear in and didn't even seem to bat an eyelash at it.
I successfully defended my masters thesis on the 5th. Then, the next day, while visiting some friends, I got a phone call informing me I'm scheduled for a job interview! It's the 5th job I applied for, with the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation. I think I've got a pretty good chance, seeing as the job has been open since, oh, February.
Do any of you actually find that most nostril screws are comfortable? Because I find that they poke me. And tickle. A lot. And I frequently have to re-bend them. Is this a result of cheap nostril screws, or some sort of weird nose?
