| 2010/02/06 16:50 Officially, participating in the WAWA Stair Climb up the Mellon Bank Building at the very end of this month. If anybody is interested in donating funds (as this is a cystic fibrosis fundraiser) please contact me (or post in this entry's forum) and I will send you the link.
Also, have to say not so much a fan of the snow. I know I say it every time we get a lot but it is true. However, the car, sidewalk and side of the house were all done by 1pm. Most of it was completed this morning when I woke up and shoveled.
And for some major news, I have yet to share with anybody here....Peg sold the BeeHive on Monday. It represents a huge change in her life and ours together. We are bound to have some struggles until she lands work but this was a much needed therapeutic decision for her.

| 2010/02/04 19:57 So went with the shoes for the run-up. The lobby floor just felt a bit off for me. Ended up coming in 15th and running a best time for the event. Could have done better but the luck factor came into play at the start and I was not as lucky as last year which put me at a disadvantage. However, overall, I was very pleased.
In fact, the whole trip to NYC was lovely. My personal highlight was running in Central Park on Wednesday morning with it blanketed in snow. Totally scenic. I could have run in that setting forever it was so tranquil.
Based on Tuesday, I feel like I want to tackle another run-up soon so I am probably doing the Mellon Bank Run at the end of the month. If so you'll know since I will put up a donation link. :)

| 2010/02/01 20:51 Looking like no shoes for tomorrow. Might change that decision at the last minute but it is the route I am likely going at this moment. 86 Floors....Here I Come! |

| 2010/01/30 13:22 Currently, running lala.com through my stereo. I'm streaming the latest 30 Seconds To Mars. I heard it before and was not impressed but I heard some of it again last night in a store and wanted to revisit it at a louder volume. It is better loud. That is a good quality (even if you may not like the band.)
Last night, Peg and I had a vegetarian chef tasting meal at Jack's Firehouse. Nice lovely meal of 4 courses. The main entrees were a bit lackluster as we were hoping for some BBQ related veggie options but alas no. Overall it was worth what we paid since it was paid with from a race victory. :)
Speaking of racing, the run-up is but a few days away. Nervous and excited at the same time. Still debating about shoes or no shoes. Either way it will be an experience again.

| Mid-week just got more awesome!!! | |
| 2010/01/27 18:51 Had an awesome little something waiting for me when I got home from work this evening....a CD. Not just any CD but the ORCHID - Through the Devils Doorway EP. It is sick. Just sick. It is my friend Mark's band. I could say some other stuff but I won't. What I will say is that I am glad to have a physical copy of the release. Next month, word is Terrorizer magazine will be reviewing it.
Anyways, aside from that, inquired with the organizers of Tuesday's run up if barefooting it would be allowed since I am weighing that decision. However, I want to know if I can.

| 2010/01/26 19:26 Made an adjustment to my training schedule. Today, I was supposed to go to the gym and do my cycle. However, I needed some extra rest this morning. Instead, I moved the 2x running up the building I work in to this evening from Thursday. Factoring in the down part, 168 floors in 24 minutes. It is a lot slower going down since I can't double step that way. I went up in 5:22 and 5:46 (without shoes the second time). After that I logged some miles outside. Overall, I think it was a solid adjustment to make as it will make the end of the week easier as a taper for the run-up next Tuesday.
Now I think I will go eat some leftover ziti I made yesterday.

| 2010/01/24 13:01 New week, same weekend. I always think of Sundays as the first day of the week not the last. Considering how last week went this is for the better.
This morning I drove out to HARTS LANE and parked at the Miquon station so I could proceed to do my workout/run. 2 x HARTS LANE. Let me mention that the road is 1.7 miles long and it is all hills. Going up is much harder but since I was doing two, it is a test of strength since it is just under 7 miles of hill running alone. I added some extra for 8.5 miles on the day. Ran it faster than last week which was good. I broke it up differently this time too which made it easier to manage mentally. I did each major hill going up twice so by the time I really got to the end, I had run up twice and back down once so all I had to do was run back to the train station.
Afterward, I went to the nearby Best Buy to pick up FRINGE on DVD since they had an awesome deal on it and I do love that show. Maybe, I'll loan my co-worker it a disc at a time since he has not seen the show.
Anyways, back to enjoying the rest of the weekend that has gone by way too fast.
