2010/02/05 10:49 After my hell of day that you can read about in my below post, I was convinced that I would be leaving New York and New Jersey pretty immediately. Fate had other plans for me, and now I'm in Amityville as happy as I could ever be! I just knew I was being called to this place for a reason and I'm postive I've found that purpose. Yesterday and today have so far been nothing short of fantastic (like miracle status in the most sincere sense of the word). As I wake up on a new day and sip my tea that was so graciously brought to me, I think I'll do some exploring around town and see what I stumble upon. My raw adventurers luck has struck gold yet again!
In other news, go say hello to iam: yourfriendjustin. Arguably my best friend in this world (the nice young gentleman whos portrait i adorn perminantly on my leg) Has decided to join the iam community! It was tough and confusing for me at first when I got Iam, so head his way and say hello! He's the friendliest person youll ever meet!
Maybe I'll update later on my findings, It would be nice to find a random Wells Fargo so i can pay my car insurance!
2010/02/03 22:52 Jersey is officially kicking my butt. The skating to and from work is taking its physical toll, its probably because im just out of shape but i am lugging around my messenger bag. Not being from a city is really playing a part too, I have no idea what its like and its costing me (literally). I went to look at a reasonable room in jersey city, and it cost me nearly 30 dollars in a cab to do so. The lady was older and really nice, but i got home and counted my pennies only to find that i'd have to give her virtually everything ive got for first month and security deposit. It doesnt seem like i'll be able to keep this up, although i can honestly say ive tried my best so far. I'm faced with a crisis... I dont know if i should pack up and go back to Pittsburgh, SOMEHOW try to ride this out, or try my hand in Dallas. It wouldnt be so hard if i were actually making steady money at the shop i'm piercing at. One client in three days is NOT paying the bills, especially here. I'd like to get one last weekend in Piercing at the shop to get a few extra dollars, but I have a feeling it will end up being my last. Im getting somewhat low on food, but thats the least of my concern at the moment.
I also look like i got punched in the eye... no idea why. Im sometimes allergic to cats, and Eric has a few...maybe it has something to do with that?
2010/02/01 15:26 Work/ Life is kicking into gear, I found somewhere to live for a good price. I'm making decent money piercing as well. Howeverrr, today I found out that one of the artists is trying to learn how to play guitar, he even keeps his accoustic downstairs. We talked about it for a bit and decided to trade off, and he'll show me the ropes so I'll be able to successfully tattoo HEAVY BLACKWORK!! I cant wait, not only because i love it myself but because its tough to find someone really into (happy about) the idea of just shading for hours on end. I think i'll get a lot of people from around the area, and being so close to NYC thats good news. Exciting day!
2010/01/30 18:46 Ive been putting in a lot of hours and working on a lot of clients at my new shop. Im still getting the feel for the new place and everything, but they let me kind of do my own thing which I appreciate. I made more money today then I ever have in one full day of work. I think I may have found a place to live in Jersey Heights, I'm going to check it out tonight, hopefully its legit. If you live in the hoboken/ nyc area feel free to come in and say hi or get some work done, the shop is called "Hoboken Body Art". I really cant immagine myself working as anything but a piercer right now, I absolutely love it.
I'm trying to make more friends and branch out up here so get ahold of me!
