Constants:

Changes:
-I went home (to NY) a couple weeks ago and saw my dad. I came out to him, and he took it really well. He started using my new name that same day (granted, with some slip ups). He's a good guy.
-I stayed with my mom for a week and a half, slept waaay more than I'm used to and basically did nothing. It was nice.
-When I was at home visiting my mom I saw the extended family - aunts and uncles, my cousins. I told them all I prefer male pronouns, which everyone was great with. I think they all knew, but I didn't know what page everybody was on, so I just wanted to clarify that.
-I got my official, laminated license when I was visiting my mom. it says Sex: M on it. it's awesome.
-I've been riding my bike through the winter, and I got these sweet winter boots a couple days ago. They're super warm. I love them. and they're clipless, so I'm riding clipless now. It's interesting, new. My legs hate it.
-I saw my shrink on the 7th and asked what her process is for putting people on hormones. She said she usually does a couple consultations with people, asks questions and writes down their answers. Then she takes another couple weeks and writes up the letter, then you're done! We're gonna start doing that next week, so in a month I should have my letter for my endocrinologist. So it's entirely possible that I'll be injecting myself with Testosterone a month and a half from now. I get this stupid grin on my face when I think about it.

fuck, I'm excited. It feels good.

I know, I don't update enough. My life is currently chaotic as fuck.

Still volunteering and fixing bikes (too much)

Changes:
-In 2 days I travel back home to MA to visit my family for Thanksgiving. Everybody there knows I'm trans, and they're all going to try calling me Evan and using male pronouns. I'm kinda astounded and feel deeply grateful, no matter how crazy my family can be sometimes.
-While I'm home, I'll hopefully be going to court to change my name. After that I'll legally be Evan Isaiah Spencer.
-While I'm home, I'll definitely be getting a new license. This new license will have me legally listed as being Male. fuck yeah.
-I'm planning on having top surgery, probably some time in March. Right now my surgeon of choice is Medalie in Cleveland, OH(IO). He doesn't know it yet, but I like a lot of the work he's done.
-I'll probably start hormones sometime within the next couple months, too. I don't know. I'll talk to Medalie whether or not he thinks starting so soon to surgery would be a good idea. If not, I'll start a month or so after surgery.
-I'm gonna mention all this to my mom when I'm home. I think it'll go pretty well (thank God for Chaz Bono, I think he's the only reason my mom understands anything I'm going through).
-I'll probably visit my dad sometime in December and come out to him. I think it'll go pretty well but I'm still kinda stressed out about it.

So, people tell me I don't update enough.

here's what's been goin' on:

-Started volunteering at a bike co-op
-I realized I was trans 3ish months ago
-Promptly came out
-started using male pronouns, then a male name
-Passed my spring quarter
-Gave myself a mohawk, then later shaved my head
-Got an A in my summer class
-Thought I was off academic probation
-Realized I'm still on academic probation (fucking bastards)
-Still volunteering at that bike co-op too much
-Drama drama drama
-Came out to my brother. he was cool about it.
-Currently sleeping on a friend's couch for a couple weeks until classes start again
-More drama

I got interviewed yesterday by someone from Loyola University about TRC. It was weird. I imagine most there who are volunteered talk about how they like helping people, but I was like "I LOVE FIXING BIKES." Whoops. People also took pictures of me and another guy fixing bikes. Hopefully those don't suck.

Today was a good day. dude I know works at a bike shop and they had a free stand so I got to work on my bike there a little bit today, which was so amazing. Did a lot of things I'd never done before, screwed up a bit, but ultimately felt like I learned a ton. And the dude said it felt good having me there, like he was comfortable and didn't have to worry about me. Made me feel good. I plan on working there next summer.

school starts Tuesday after next. I'm coming out to my mom this friday/saturday. I just realized a couple days ago that if that doesn't go well, it'll be a real shit start to the year. Oh well. I think it'll be ok.

Oh, and I've been listening to a lot of metal lately. Mostly Lamb of God - Wrath and As The Palaces Burn. Some Avenged Sevenfold too, though (fine, I know they're not metal).

I wasn't gonna upload these originally 'cause I doubt people really care about seeing them, but since people think my tattoo's fake I figured I would lol. The most recent session was re-doing the text, which is why it looks so much more bold (bolder?) than the heads. The picture posted on modblog was taken the morning after it was done, before any real scabs had a chance to form.

Day 3 of healing are pictures 1 and 2.
Day 5 of healing are pictures 3 and 4.

Now I need to go take a nap. Drinking Bawls 5 hours before I went to bed was not a good decision.
