2008/11/21 05:27 Alright, I've been away from IAM for a while but I'm back and I've got an update for y'all.
First of all, I was told that I would have that apprenticeship, and now it seems like I may not. I talked to the shop owner and he said that the piercer I would be apprenticing under needed at least 3-6 months to get settled into the new shop and finish things up with his current apprentice (who was supposed to be nearly finished). This was back in August or September. I'm going to call Keith tomorrow and see if I can get an update on the situation.
Over the past few months, I've been stretching my septum. As of Wednesday it's at 8 gauge. I've heard/read that stretching it is really painful, but I haven't noticed it too much. This last stretch was the only one that was painful and the soreness (that seemed to last for a week) that I felt after previous stretches is almost entirely gone.
Last month, my boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary by suspending for the first time! He did a 4 pt suicide and I did an 8 pt superman. Experience and pictures are in the works.
For what seemed like forever I kept getting big nasty zits right behind the bead on the right side of my bridge. I was starting to think that there was something wrong but it has actually cleared up and has been gone for a good week or so. I still have a ton of scar tissue though.
I've stretched my lobes (successfully this time) to 7/16ths though I have this weird issue with my left one. I stretched it and it was just fine no issues what-so-ever and about 2 weeks later a blow-out appeared, and overnight it was gone. My lobe has randomly been blowing out and absorbing said blow-out all on it's own since I got to this size. I'd like to continue stretching but don't know if this is an issue.
I just got the ball rolling on getting myself back into school. If all goes well, I'll be enrolled in the Graphic Design program in the spring.
