I'm pretty open-minded with a lot of stuff. Whatever makes you feel good, if it's with informed consent of all parties, do it. And don't let what you do define how you label yourself, unless that's how you feel about yourself.
In spite of everything, I still believe that people are truly good at heart. Anne Frank said it, and it's how I live my life.

Planned mods: A sleeve of national/symbolic flowers of places I've been - hoping to give myself this as a gift for graduation.
2009/10/23 01:46 Have I ever mentioned that I love ear pointing? I think it's totally awesome. There's such wide variety in the results though, I'd be scared to get it done. Some people are very subtle, some are practically Vulcans (!), some just come out really WRONG. I'd love to get it done and freak out every audiologist I ever meet in the future - especially the grad students at Gallaudet! - but I don't think my wife would go for it. I like it on other people though!
2009/10/19 16:57 I prefer to keep a labret stud in my conch piercing, because hoops that are big enough to be comfortable tend to interfere with my third earlobe piercing on that ear.
Last Wednesday I went to scratch my ear, or whatever I was doing, and I realized something was missing. I felt all around my right ear, and there were definitely only three labret stud backs there. Nothing in the conch! I had absolutely no idea where it went, and of course I panicked because I didn't know how long it had been missing! (Without checking my timeline, I'd guess that the piercing is a couple of years old, but I've never gone without something in it.)
I tried putting in my bioplast star-shaped gem labret stud but it wouldn't go through even when I looked in the mirror. So I grabbed a CBR (it amuses me that I just have them lying around) and put that in...thank goodness it was big enough to be comfortable! It went right in, so I don't know what happened with the stud. I did notice that it didn't seem to "grip" very well though - I knew I should never trust bioplast! So I'm looking for something internally threaded to order.
I think the previous one must have fallen out the back. It was always too short, it pressed against the inner conch instead of sitting nicely, and the gem was probably only 1.5mm on a 1.2mm (16g) stud, so I think it just fell out! If you look at the attached picture you can see a 1.5mm gem on a 1.2mm stud...see, easily able to fall through.
2009/08/12 10:46 I had a consultation with Paul Roe yesterday, it went quite well. His apprentice Leah was very nice. Most importantly, I walked in there and said "a star and some swirlies" and he came up with a great drawing. I had a few reference pix from BME but mostly it was "uhhh" and he produced something great. Looking forward to my appointment.
2009/08/10 20:03 As much as I am intrigued by finger amputations, I would never do it, because it would fuck up my signing. I am terribly curious what it would be like to sign with half-fingers but I would never risk my hands. They are too precious to me.
2009/07/20 10:46 I got bme/hard access again! Woo hoo! And I keep forgetting the modified women gallery. I'll have to submit to that next time I need a membership. YAY YAY YAY. So few new pics in the corsetry section though. :(
2009/07/17 00:24 For your consideration:
A tattoo is the ultimate investment. Houses, cars, electronics, fine food and drink...they all disappear. A tattoo will bring you happiness for the rest of your life.
2009/07/17 00:02 Wow. Whoever is running BME now hurt the community by taking down Shannon Larratt's articles. I assume it was for legal reasons - part of the settlement or something - but it kind of sucks to have broken links everywhere. Thank goodness for the Wayback Machine, bringing stories like Overdone: Why Do People Get Star Tattoos? and Revenge of the Tattooed Nerds back to life.
