i get the news i need on the weather report
i'm lauren. i'm 21 and i'm already sick of drinking. i'd say i'm a cat lady, but i actually prefer dogs. i have a serious addiction to knitting and House MD. cinema is basically my passion, closely followed by literature, philosophy, and medicine. for some reason i'm obsessed with bluegrass cover bands. i want to learn to play the mandolin but i can't afford one. i'm trying to be more outgoing, friendly/social, so say hi. :)

pain
2010/01/25 21:03 I have had a migraine every day for about four days now. I've had one all day today and I just took an Imitrex and it still hurts.
the guy that I like just went back to California where he goes to school. I seem to prefer guys who live at least a thousand miles ago. intimacy/commitment issues? ha.
immune problems, hypertrophic scarring, and piercings.
2010/01/15 14:38 Basically, every single piercing I have ever had, with the exception of my septum the second time I got it pierced, has developed hypertrophic scarring that I have not been able to get rid of, and I have had to take them out.
Some of time it was understandable...for example, I had my anti-tragus pierced unprofessionally with a CBR instead of a curved barbell, which would have caused less movement. But both times I had my high nostrils, they got huge, gross hypertrophic scars and they were done professionally with nose screws that did not move at all. They would shrink if I used tea tree oil and/or Mederma on them, but as soon as I stopped, they came back.
Then, as I said in my previous post, I had my philtrum pierced for the second time (the first time I had it for about two weeks and basically ended up taking it out because of the job I had at the time...it didn't have any problems, yet) and got a gigantic...pustule on the inside of my lip from it. I know that sounds gross...and it was gross. I didn't know what to do with it because you can't use tea tree oil on the inside of your mouth. My piercer said it was probably because I had a really long lip stud in for several weeks, which was to accommodate swelling (which there wasn't any this time) and the movement caused the hypertrophic scar/pustule/whatever the fuck it was. Finally it just annoyed me and grossed me out too much and I took out the piercing, and thing went away.
So, my question is, has anyone else had this many problems with piercings? And if you have, did you ever have any piercings that succeeded, and what did you do differently so that they didn't get infected/develop scarring/reject/etc? How many times would you attempt to get a piercing after removing it due to these problems before you gave up? I doubt anyone will read this far, but if you do, please tell me! I just want healthy, cute piercings! It should not be this hard!
2010/01/08 22:57 Aw, man, you guys. I had my philtrum pierced again for about a month, but I developed this HUGE gross lump of scar tissue on the back of it that just would not go away. So I took it out. I think I may have waited too long to change to a shorter bar, it was moving around a lot and I think that irritated it. I still don't have any more tattoos, because of money. I'm really itching to get something, but money is a huge issue because I'm extremely desperate to study abroad this summer and don't know how much financial aid I'll be able to get, so I am holding on to every last penny. I don't have a job, but I'm about to get certified as a pharmacy tech, so hopefully I'll get a job doing that soon. I need new septum jewelry, new ear jewelry, and I'm dying for ink! The rest of my life is way too fucking complicated to even get into...
Me on Halloween. I was a zombie hipster ;)
i need
2009/10/10 21:21 to stick some needles into my body.
I think I'm going to ask my mom for money to get my philtrum pierced again on monday. Being broke sucks, haha. I hate having to ask my mom for money for shit, but I just don't have time for a job right now with school.
Anyway...asking for tattoo money for my birthday, which is November 2nd. I'll be 21, w00t.
