Only when the last tree
Has been cut down
And the last river
Has dried to a trickle
Will man finally realise
That we cannot eat money
And reciting old proverbs
Makes you sound like a twat

back.
2009/11/04 09:21 we are back from our vacation. in short, it rained four out of six of our planned climbing days. we ended up staying an extra day to give us three days to climb. kind of a bummer.
we went to elephant rocks for a day and spent a day bouldering and a day sport climbing in so ill.
as for bouldering i would say the trip was not successful as i did not climb anything that was more difficult that i thought would be in my ability range. i did discover that i kind of like highballs. there is an odd sort of calm in having your ass 25 feet off the ground.
as far as sport climbing, i think the trip was much more successful. i seem to have gotten over some of my fear of falling. sent a 5.10c in two tries, flashed a 10a, did a really runout 5.9 (later discovered it was supposed to also include trad gear placements). i wish i had tried some harder stuff, as i am sure i could have done something in the 11's quite easily, but we only had one day of sport climbing.
we did manage to get some video so hopefully i will have that up soon.
