2010/01/31 13:33 here's a picture of the micros i did on the rid 1.5 weeks ago. they look great! i didn't bother to take pictures of the one on her lower back near her butt crack or her wrist. they are both healing great as well.
2010/01/21 16:12 On Monday, I did a microdermal project that will eventually be a corset. I inserted 8 microdermals into one of my female client's ribs. She came to me and wanted micros instead of rings. She took it like a champ. We did 10 micros on her total; 8 on her ribs, 1 on her wrist, and 1 above her butt crack. I usually don't do this many at once, but she's a repeat client who heal things really well and understood what she was getting into. Eventually, the blue opal cabochons will be replaced with slave rings and ribbon will be threaded through them. In the picture, the top right on looks out of line. It's actually; her arm was positioned in such a way that it makes it look off. I will update as the process goes along.
2010/01/06 19:32 today, i had to deal with yet another person who got a horrible piercing from another studio about an hour away from here. this girl got the left side of her bottom lip pierced. the piercer pierced it at a severely downward angle and it was angled too far out. the shitty externally threaded labret stud had a HUGE bead on it. it was grotesquely huge in proportion to her face. she wanted my to change the labret stud to one of ours. she had only had it pierced for a couple of hours. i usually don;t change jewelry so soon, but the piece of jewelry in her face looked absolutely terrible. i almost felt bad for her. when i took a closer look at the piercing, i noticed that the flatback didn't lye flat against her lip due to the drastic downward angle it was pierced at. i explained to her the situation and suggested that she just remove the jewelry and let it heal and have it re-pierced. i explained to her that she would most likely have trouble healing it and if it did in fact heal, she would probably have trouble with biting down on the flatback. she refused and i switched the jewelry for her. when everything was done, she said she should have come to me first. i asked her why she didn't and she responded that we were expensive. then i pointed out that she ended up spending more than it would have cost to get her initial piercing from me. she will be my client from now on, which is good, but i really wish it was obvious to people that price shopping when someone is putting a hole in your body isn't a good idea. it also baffles me that a person who claims to be a professional piercer can let a piercing that fucked up walk out of their studio. as proud as i am, i can still recognize when a piercing i've done isn't the best and i should re-pierce it better. i wish there was some sort of skill and ability test someone had to take before getting licensed to pierce. i'm just so sick of terrible piercers who butcher people everyday and convince them that it's okay; then take people's money for a substandard performance.
2010/01/02 19:11 He it is 2010 and what am I doing? Uploading all of my cd's to iTunes. Work has been slow today, although I expect business to pick up this week being that school starts on Friday and everyone will have financial aid refunds to spend. I had a quiet but awesome New Year's Eve. I spent the night unpacking my stuff in my new, amazing apartment while my children slept in the next room. I was surprised at about 11:45 by my favorite guy, Gabe. He left work in the middle of his shift to come home and welcome the New Year with me. He stayed for a while, then he went back to work. I ended the night with a hot bubble bath and the book I'm currently reading. I hope this Year brings me as many or more great things that 2009 brought me. I look forward to all the new adventures I will have. I have made a list of things I want to change and/or improve on this years. This list includes working out 3-4 times a week, eating better, and taking better care of my skin. The last one may seem strange, but healthy skin is important.
