Bible belt drama

2009/10/13 02:12 I don't even want to get into the past about comments and altercations due to my appearance or my choice in significant others, I am just going to let the one story out because it was so asinine I honestly am still trying to realize it wasn't a bad dream. So late last week my boyfriend, Dre , and I were walking around in Best Buy browsing camera cases and video games and such. About fifteen minutes later, We were standing in line with just a single $25 ITunes gift card. Previous to this day, we had just recently gotten approved for a Best Buy Only credit card with no interest for 18 months. We both got an Ipod Touch and have basically spent the remaining balance on music. I have also been a loyal Reward Zone customer with them for at least five years. All this aside, this particular night with the single gift card, a man in blue asked us to step out of the line. We get out of the line and confusingly wait to see what he wants. Immediately he asked "Where are my games guys I know you have them" he then starting opening empty nintendo ds boxes. Neither of us own a DS nor would I bother to steal if I was IN LINE and have a credit card with the damn company. Being polite we offered to let him search us if he didn't believe us. He stated that we had to get out of his store immediately and he had the right to refuse service to anyone. When asked why he wanted to refuse service to us he stated that we looked suspicious. Dre then proceeded to ask him if was discriminating us based on our appearance and he replied that matter of fact he was. Then a clan of people in blue shirts approached us like we were holding an unpaid for 72" plasma television. I wish i would have could call the police but what would they do? Most of them (not all) would look at us the same way. What is even sadder is that the people that have heard about this are split. Most want to go up there and raise hell but there are a few that are so close-mined they say we bring it on ourselves. I've said it before and I will say it again. it you don't like it, don't look. No one deserves to be treated like a second rate citizen, especially if they bust their ass for every penny they spend. I may not be perfect, but I know right from wrong. Another aspect of this situation that sucks is that it is not wise to fight back publicly because it just re-enforces preconceived notions about interracial couple and heavily modified people. After being ridiculed in front of everyone in the store we decided to drop the discussion and leave...no witness said a single word. I would hope that if I saw a quiet couple keeping to themselves be verbally abused by a crazy manager with napoleon syndrome, that I would step in and try to help resolve the situation. I can not wait till I get the fuck out of this bullshit part of the country and am able to be someone and not fall victim to the stupidity of the region. The regional manager has been contacted about the situation and hopefully they have come up with a good solution because I have a good free lawyer. I also have friends that know most of the people on WTOC and can easily get this aired; I almost wish I had the energy to take it that far, but alas I will probably cave and try to go about my business as normally as I can. Anyway if you don't want to get treated like shit or yelled at for no reason I suggest the best Buy in SC of Macon,GA. Fuck Discrimination (3)

2009/09/22 23:22 Highlight: Body Vision Jewelry (custom nostril threaded plugs) Lowlight: Broken Statim during freshman rush I would really like to move but I am being lazy about getting a good portfolio put together...why cant they let me resize 50 images at once? Applying for APP membership...finally. I still find it a bit unreasonable that I pay for my classes, my permit, the annual conference, and my membership out of my pocket when I am on salary and only work 3 days a week. Just venting. I miss statim and I am glad Chris has returned. I can't wait till everything gets figured out with my health as well because I would really enjoy not feeling like shit all the time. And lastly I will go with a highlight: even though I get grossed out when I hear people say this kind of shit but I seriously have one of the best boyfriends ever. I am thankful to have been blessed with someone that cares so much, I couldn't have asked for more. Posting pic of tongue split finally. Oh and I chopped all my hair off... Where should I move? (1)

2009/07/20 23:41 I realized that I didn't post a comment forum for that last entry so if anyone has any ideas about the previous entry let me know here. This is just a plain entry. Had a great day off exploring the city Iv'e lived in for four years with the best guy ever. Savannah is so beautiful but it just doesn't feel like home. Enough of my complaining...I'll just post a picture of the best thing I have going for me. woot (1)
