In the 2009 August/September issue of Bust Magazine, there was an article about a "stylist/vegan confectioner" named Melissa Love (pictured below).
I read the article, and all I thought was, I NEED THAT DRESS.
I recognized it as a Betsey Johnson creation, and I melted at the sight of the yellow taffeta and adorable detailing. Quote Melissa Love herself: "The dress is a find from Beacon’s Closet . . . It was new, with the tags still on, but I only paid $40 for it."
Lucky fucking bitch. I ached for that dress, but knew the chances of . . .
a) finding it;
b) finding it in my size;
c) finding it for a decent price;
. . . were downright impossible. So I put it out of my head.
But fast-forward seven months. Guess what I just won on eBay?
And that's right, kids -- it's MY size and I won it for exactly $40 including shipping.
