My name is Heather.

I am: a total geek, Jewish, power/prog metal fan, squid admirer (as an animal, not an entree) and otherwise pretty damn average. I desire to smash things with a hammer.

I am pierced.  I am scarred.  I am not inked.  I have done three flesh pulls.  I am interested in suspension.  And I love this community. 

As well as being something I am personally passionate about, I also have an artistic and academic interest in body modification and ritual.  Religious studies is my academic area of study, so I am especially interest in how body ritual and modification can relate/affect a person's spirituality or connection with the divine.

The one body modification I'm morally opposed to: routine infant circumcision.
