(I haven't been active in here for a while, so I decided to clean this page up.
I still check my messages, my friend's blogs and a couple forums.
And I'm obviously still in touch with many people I met here.

I'll let my account linger for some time still.
Can't get rid of it like this.

Proper life update!

Life has been good, Uni has been great. :D I'm always very tired though, the campus is very far from my house and the hours are long. Doesn't leave me time for much else. :/ I am however working on my CPE (barely) and also planning the Paris/Bruxelles trip, (where I'll unfortunately be Ninhaless). I'm also catching up with my cinema, in the movies when I have money, but mostly at home.

I miss keeping a journal of the things I do, places I go, Movies, Books... I like to remind myself of these sort of stuff. :/

The year so far
2008/02/18 16:03 has been really good! <3 :D

Paris and Shanghai
2007/11/30 12:10 So, I'm in Rio, for good. I had my last Uni entrance exam on sunday but my mom said I should stay the week and get my shit sorted out for next year. Instead, I watched a lot of TV and hung out with my cat.

Today, after the madness, I'll go watch La Môme again with my mother. I'm a big cry baby when it comes to movies but in this movie, it was pathetic.

>
Couldn't find any excerpts on youtube, so here's the trailer.
I cry even watching the trailer and I'm not even kidding.

...

Have you people heard of Tektronic? I don't like electronic music, but I think the way these French kids are dancing is so unbelievably funny!

lololololol!

The Shanghai Restoration Project is my new musical vice. Makes me feel in a Wong Kar Wai movie, and anything that does that suits me fiiine.

Pa-pa-pa-pa-paris.
2007/11/12 15:09 Paris, je t'aime premiered on last year's Rio cinema festival, but it sold out, so I didn't get the chance of seeing. Yesterday, I finally watched it.

For those who have no idea of what I'm blabbing about, it's a movie composed by 18 5min short films, each by a different director telling a love story named by an "arrondissement" (borough?).

Anyway, here are my favourites:

Tuilleries (Coen brothers)
Fun and nonsensical! Also, I love the rhythm. (No subtitles, but they aren't really necessary anyway!)

Tour Eiffel (Sylvain Chomet - of Les Triplettes de Belleville)
How two mimes met and fell in love as told by their son. Beautiful texture, lovely story! (There's an english transcript in the youtube page.)

Place des Fêtes (Oliver Schmitz)
First time I cried in a short movie, for real.

Faubourg Saint-Denis (Tom Tykwer - of Run Lola Run)
I knew it by heart even before seeing it as my girl friends loved it so much. A blind man and an american aspiring actress lovestory.

14è Arrondissement (Alexander Payne - of Sideways)
A view of Paris by an American tourist. It's so impossibly adorable, sad, happy, naif and sincere.

There are many other great ones from many good directors like Walter Salles, Gus Van Sant, Alfonso Cuarón... But I can't find them with subtitles tee-hee. If you are brazilian though, all the movies are uploaded on youtube with portuguese subtitles, I can't recomment them enough.

Anyway, I should go back to studying our ever tragic (and pathetic, funny, full of suckers and arseholes) Brazilian History.

L'effet que tu me fais.
2007/11/11 04:30 I should be sleeping, since in three hours I have a very important university exam. Instead, I'm wide awake obsessing about my high-school sweetheart: The French Boy. I obsess about him from time to time. No idea why. After all, he isn't that special of a boy and it wasn't that special of a love story. :/

He sent me an e-mail couple days ago. Said he'll show me around his disctrict when I visit Paris next year. Montmartre, of all places! Tempting. Very much so.
