I wish I had lots and lots of money so I could get all of the mods I've ever wanted.

2008/06/17 11:33 Last summer I went to the beach three days after getting surface piercings on my chest. I put sunscreen all over except left little circles around the piercings because I didn't want to get them dirty. It didn't occur to me at the time to put a Band-Aid over the jewelry. But I got very sunburned in fabulous red circles around the piercings. The tan lines stayed for a good 6 months.
Yesterday I went to Carowinds and put sunscreen on the top of my nose but avoided the double nostrils. Now my nostrils are bright red.
2008/05/10 02:07 I'm home. After 4 months in Barcelona.
It's overwhelming.
I got used to spending time with myself in Barcelona. Large social situations make me feel very insecure. I went to FemFest in Greensboro last week and had to hide myself in a corner reading zines for a while. But even being around some of my closest friends feels weird. I was prepared for life to go on without me, but I wasn't prepared for so much to be the same. And I wasn't prepared for the person I have become. Maybe with time things will go back to normal...but if not I know I'll adjust.
I just know that it will be a while before I really understand everything I've experienced.
2008/04/21 23:24 I lost my passport in Vienna. Long story short, I had to pay for 2 tickets home on the same flight because Click Air made a mistake. That and the fees I had to pay for a new passport to get me back to Barcelona in time for exams meant I had to cancel my appointment for a calf piece by Javier Rodriguez at LTW Tattoo. So, no Spanish/Catalan tattoo.

2008/02/28 13:38 I'm studying in Barcelona until May. I noticed right away that facial piercings are like par for the course here. At least half of the college-aged kids have a nose ring or a lip ring. I can't tell for now if tattoos are common or not. It's winter, everyone is covered up.
