I came into town Friday so we could have a nice weekend away from our isolated community and while my gf finally recovered from a stomach bug she had last week I got a nice dose of food poisoning yesterday(thanks A&W). Totally sucked the life out of me and I spent the entire day either in bed or on the toilet. I've had food poisoning a couple times before and I guess I forgot just how much it sucks. Funny thing is that we were just talking the other day about how I haven't been sick with anything in over 2 years, not even a cold!

Extreme wind chills of minus 45 to minus 50 developing later today into tonight.

Details:

A cold Arctic airmass is settling in over the province. Temperatures are expected fall into the minus 30's later today and tonight. Northwest winds of 15 to 20 km/h except 40 gusting 60 near Hudson Bay will combine with these cold temperatures to produce extreme wind chill values of minus 45 to minus 50 later today through tonight into Sunday. At these extreme wind chill values frostbite on exposed skin may occur in 5 to 10 minutes.

2010/01/24 20:27 I suppose it's time to update about our Caribbean vacation since it's been a month since we left.
We had a wonderful time in the Dominican Republic. The weather was awesome the whole time and only rained once the whole week we were there. It took a couple days to get adjusted to the heat but it was well welcomed after leaving the cold frigid north we live in. The food was absolutely wonderful and the resort was nice and quiet. Celebrating New Years Eve in shorts and a t-shirt drinking beer on a patio was a little surreal but the beers helped that go away. I still can't believe it's been a month already but the calender proves me wrong. Our next big trip will be back to the East Coast in the summer for a few weeks. We have a couple weddings to attend and I have lots of catching up to do with family and friends.
