Gonna Make You Sweat-C+C Music Factory
2009/10/29 09:47 There's nothing I like better than getting out of bed and having a shovel in my hand 5 minutes later.*note sarcasm* Since we apparently don't have Autumn here the weather gods decided that we should get 4-5 inches of heavy wet snow last night. 40 minutes later and the shoveling was done. I have to shovel off our step, the health center deck, wheelchair ramp and walk way. Guess this all comes hand in hand with being the new maintenance man. I keep telling myself that in 2 months time I'l be sitting on a beach at this time not even thinking about snow!

2009/10/14 15:19 I suppose it's time for another update. I am now living in our small community of Ilford, Manitoba. I arrived here almost a month ago and have been busy getting adjusted to life in a remote community as well as unpacking all of our stuff and rebuilding my workshop. Almost everything is unpacked now and my shop is up and running so get your orders in for Christmas now. There are a few things that took a little time to adjust too like the weather, seclusion and quietness but I am pretty much adjusted now. The quiet took a while. Our community is small(100 people) so it's not like living in the city where there is traffic, sirens and airplanes all the time. I've heard and seen a couple helicopters fly over and freight trains everyday but other than that it's dead quiet especially at night. When the sun goes down this place turns into a ghost town. It's officially winter here as well. When I arrived here almost a month ago it was hot but the past week we've had flurries everyday and there is still some residual snow still on the ground. There is no Fall here, it went right from summer to winter in a matter of days. I really can't wait another 2 months to hope on the plane for the Dominican Republic!

This fall will be the fourth time that amalthea / Edith-Rose has participated in the annual CIBC Run for the Cure. This is a Canada wide event; a 5km run and walk on October 4th, which is aimed at raising funds for breast cancer research. Hopefully, someday that research will lead to a cure.

Last year she held a raffle on IAM, for various gift certificates from IAM’s best plugmakers, and it was a huge success… thanks IAM! Rachel from BME has approved another raffle for this year.

PRIZES TO BE WON:

$100 gift certificate for Paul’s Plugs.

$100 gift certificate for Symbiotech Studios.

$100 gift certificate for Glasswear Studios.

Custom organic wood pen & case, valued at $100, from Tribal Eclipse.

Tickets are $5 each, or 3 for $10. The winners will be selected by IAM’s random number generator program (run by Rachel), and the draw date will occur around October 3, 2009.

Payment can be made online using PayPal, and the account is: er.cairns@gmail.com. If you live in Canada you can choose to send an e-mail money transfer from your online banking. Please IM amalthea / Edith-Rose when making your payment so she can assign you a ticket number. Your IAM username and ticket number will be posted on her IAM page.

Thank you for your support and good luck! Also, thank you to all the donors this year for their generosity.
