Irish, Halo Junkie

Iam Taken by the cutest we lass from the emerald isle and I love her to bits!!
Iam Canadian born, and my Parents are Northern-Irish and English
So i guess that makes me of just plain old British Descent in the end.
I enjoy photography (even though I suck royally at it), I ride a rather shabby looking Suzuki GS500 motorcylcle, I will - at all times - own at least one VW. Currently I'm driving an '06 New Jetta TDI which will soon be getting a new set of Euro L.E.D. tails, some new rims & rubber and a few other odd's and ends to make it my own, currently it has already been re-mapped with new Kerma TDI software (which makes me extremely pants happy).
I love Halo and Guitar Hero and video gaming in general.
Past that, I hang out at my good friend Gord's tattoo and piercing parlour, the best in the niagara region!

I'm also a Freemason for those who care to know. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have... :)

Work Related
2009/11/03 10:51 SOOOOO... I have made some changes in the work portion of my life. I am now an actual member of the Westlake Industries Inc. team. Until recently, I was a member of the United Association (of Steam Fitters) as a "Metal Trade". And i was making as much as a person in my position could (the position has a cap). So as Westlake is making some changes and we're going to be moth balling our Brantford Facility "until further notice" and my position there was pretty much redundant, (They) offered me a position in the Purchasing Dept. at the Burlington head office. Which means I would need to leave the UA. Which i have now done and I am now a salary employee. Which is a first for me... until now i have always been an hourly employee. At the moment, being so new to this style of remuneration, I'm fairly pleased. I'm looking forward to getting the same paycheck every week, no matter how many days i was there or not or hours worked etc. Sounds like consistency to me! I like consistency. Anyway... in other news, Sinead and I are currently looking for a venue to have our wedding reception at in Ireland... which is proving to be not the easiest thing ever... considering we're in Canada.

POST
2009/09/17 12:37 Yes... I'm still alive. And engaged too! :)

2 Weeks & 2 Days
2009/04/22 12:19 Well... i just read my last post... and for starters, i'm in a better mood now! Which is good! I believe it may be attributed to the fact that its only 2 weeks & 2 days until i depart for Ireland! WOOT WOOT!

(ya i said "woot", deal with it)

So other then that, I joined the St.Catharines Tigers RFC (Rugby Football Club) which i'm enjoying quite a lot! It's a lot of time to dedicate to something but its really only 4 months out of the year which ain't much in the grand scheme of things! I practice tuesdays and thursdays from about 6pm to 8pm and then it usually is followed up by some pints down the pub in port dalhousie called "The Kilt & Clover". Making some new friends which is always good times! Fast friends with the coach in fact, he's a super good guy, we share an affliction for quoting all things monty python and to a lessor extent anything british-comedy related LOL. We must've been seperated at birth i tell ya!

So i had my first ever rugby game on this past Saturday. We played a team from North Halton (Georgetown, Ontario). They summoned up nearly 30 guys to come play and our team could only muster 18 so needless to say, with the exception of 3, well all played the entire game from beginning to end. I played #11 (right flanker) and aparently i did it with relative skill because i was awarded "man of the match" later that afternoon at the beer-up at the pub.
I thought they were kidding! But i guess they were being serious, I did my job, never was out of position, held my ground, never dropped the ball, and it didn't look like it was my first time on the feild either.
So basically all it meant was that i had to stand up on my chair and chug a pint faster than the man of the match from the opposing team... Good times!

Looking forward to this weekend's tournament in Oshawa... should be a full day of playing... 4 games (half the length of a regular game)
Wish me luck yo!

PEACE!!

uh oh... somebody's got a case of the munday's!
2009/03/30 10:45 Yep... so i have no idea particularly why... but i'm just in a foul mood today. Even my secretary came up to me and was like "hey... everything alright?". I guess its just a ton of stuff really. First and foremost - I'm going nuts trying to stay sane, waiting for May. I feel like a total dooooooosh because i'm taking a full 3... thats right 3 weeks off work... trust me, that ain't exactly going over to well. I'll be coverd during that time but still... people must F'n hate me here! Most certainly talking about me behind my back because of it. But that could very well be me being totally paranoid i guess.

So then we move on to the fact that I'm going to see Sinead, the main reason I'm going to Ireland in the first place. But the first week I'm there is the Northwest 200 Motorcycle Road Races... the reason i've gone every year in the past!

Normally I go for a week or two and stay with my Super Duper Awesome Aunt and Uncle who put me up and take me around and we just have a great time together! they actually live inside the racetrack so it works out perfect! you can walk anywher! It's like a week long motorbike festival! Racing, shows, meeting the racers in the pits, getting autographs, the whole deal!

The problem this year though is that Sinead doesn't really enjoy the bikes... and likely won't want to come with me on those days we're (my unlce and cousins) going to spend doing bike realated things. I would like to think that i wouldn't piss her off if i went and did these things without her... (as i wouldn't hold her back if the positions were reversed) ...but I just know that its going to be awkward. Not only that, but its like an hour drive or more to get from her house to the coast where the races are held... So it's not exactly like we can just run up everyday... we're both going to be on a budget and let me tell ya, fuel ain't cheap there!

The other thing is that my Uncle said something to me when i told him i was coming this year... he said "Northwest Week is for the Boys" and I agree with him... i think thats what its about, and i really don't feel like disapointing him at all either! But how can i say to Sinead... ok i'll see you in a week?! come or don't come!

However, this really shouldn't be a problem as we've got 2 more weeks after that to be together and not to mention the entire comeing year... and if all goes well... a long time after! Moreover, the whole reason that i'm staying the extra week is so we can go to her friends wedding (who i might add... she doesn't really get along with as well as i would hope - considering its costing me an extra $1000 to stay that week) But Girls are Girls... they dont' think like guys do! I just don't want to upset her is all...

So ya... pretty messed up about the whole thing right now.
