2010/01/20 12:10 Steady as she goes, a day at a time. Still no child support or extra work as of yet. I am somehow making rent and bills but I am uncertain of how long my luck will last with that. The boy and his girlfriend are moving away to Vashon island since they have found no work and will have a free place to stay there. He has promised to stay true to his share of the parenting of the child and I am trying my best to stay optimistic that this will all work out. Besides all of that, I am finding ways to stay occupied and entertained that do not involve the need of money. Yesterday a good friend of mine came over with some tattoo needles and some ink and she and I proceeded to adorn our fingers and toes with some stick and poke dots and such. There is something quite satisfying and ritualistic about DIY tattooing. I will post pictures of the new adornments soon.

| 2009/12/30 15:20 I am feeling a strong desire to scalpel my ears & lip and shave the sides of my head but, alas, these urges must be contained until the weather permits comfort for all of these new modifications.

2009/12/19 12:37 So the boy has lost his job and has been unable to obtain new work or unemployment. Since much of my income has been reliant upon my child support payments, I am finding myself struggling to stay afloat. Despite the fact that I have 2 jobs, I do not work enough hours to cover expenses so I am finding myself in search of a third place of employment. I have picked up the pace with my clothing modifications to sell at Bootyland and have been commissioned by the owner to dye and print on clothing for some extra income. Since I have many friends in tattoo shops in the area, I have been offering tube scrubbing services in exchange for tips. Some have shown interest, so I'll just have to wait and see what comes of it. I have also spoken with the very kind woman who owns the plant shop next to Bootyland about making terrariums to sell in her shop. In spite of all of my financial hardships, I am enjoying life and all of its gifts. I love the jobs that I do have and the projects that help with my income, I enjoy being busy with work, my daughter, my creative endeavors and my wonderful friends. I recently paid a visit to family in central California and returned with a renewed appreciation for my home in the city. There is so much opportunity here to be fed by the creative forces and enjoy life without a penny in your pocket.
