washuchan   Fabulous Las Vegas
free spririt, musician, research goddess

Hi. I am that strange young woman you knew in college. Alright, probably not, but you knew someone a lot like me. Once I grew up, I found that the most useful class I took in 7 years of college is a library research class; I am a google-goddess. I am also a thirty-something mom who gets carded regularly, has a variety of peircings, and had my first tattoo in October of 2006.

I like food, alcohol, sex, blowing stuff up in video games, knowing things, laughing.

Peircings: Standard ears; upper earlobe and cartilidge on right ear; VCH; navel; nose screw.

Tats: Hello Kitty and Chococat.

Other: laser hair removal, photo-facials, thermage, botox.

Where there's smoke
2007/10/26 12:43 This is the second October I have watched smoke creep, then spill over the mountains into the Las Vegas Valley. Once it begins, it progresses quickly. First the gray haze appears behind, then it veils the hills, finally it obscures them altogether. The valley is blanketed in a matter of hours. Sunset and twilight shall be eerie this day.

These pictures were taken on my cell phone (car was stopped at a light/sign), and of course do not do justice to reality.

Not that I am hoping or anything crazy like that!
2007/10/24 18:45 Kami forbid any terrible crime should happen to anybody, of course. But if something did happen that was actually unusual enough to capture Hollywood's imagination, I would much rather it be an episode of CSI than Law'n Order.

Just what I needed....
2007/10/22 08:20 So, signed up with the broker right down the street, and it's already turning out to be the right decision: close to the neighborhoods I want to work; good training; people who are locally notable in the business.

Got another test notice at the Karate dojo. Believe it or not I'm up for my purple belt. Yes, I know they get harder from here. I think my progress surprised Miss T. and Mr. B., but hey I've been watching these forms for a few years now.

No real progress on the weight thing, but I am holding steady at this level. I can't really complain about that.

A bunch of us are still chillin and chattin on IRC over at Dalnet #iamwewere. Come on over and visit, ok?

one more down
2007/10/13 21:51 Now I have also passed the national and state real estate exams. Next up, deciding what broker to go with (decision must be made in the next 24 hours) and apply for license. Need a house in Vegas? Let me know!

Passed!
2007/10/06 10:43 I passed the final exam for my real estate class! That means I can take the big licensing exam. At this point I have two brokers who want to talk to me about working for them (you need a sponsoring broker to actually get a license; agents actually work under the supervision and certification of the broker).

Some people think I am nuts to do this *right now*. After all the market is so crappy, right? Well, that's exactly why I am doing this *right now*. The kind of people who are making money in this crappy market are the people I want to learn from. If you can make money in times like this, you can make money any time.

Let the happy-dance begin.
