the australian taxation office keeps trying to contact me to let me know i get $250.00 back on a tax form i submitted once.

i can already picture what i'm going to spend the money on...

*edit* beautiful souls make me smile!
those damn kids!

this has to be a joke.
*say it out loud if you don't get it.*

my roomate is watching one of the most vapid shows on t.v. the whole show equates to this:
you're only sexy if you're skinny.
way to go society. way to go.

this is from leslie savan at thenation.com. the whole article is quite good, but i couldn't help laugh at this:
Palin represents the natural next stage in Fox's evolution from talking heads who pretend to know things that aren't true to those who sincerely believe things that aren't true.
and...
Sarah Palin's ability to sit there with a straight face and say things so stupid (like health care reform will lead to "death panels") that they break the sound barrier, leaving her opponents speechless, is a gift, not a failing.
maybe this will lead to some fun, after all.
2010/01/12 14:44
so two things synonymous with stupidity have just joined forces to become super-mega-stupid-... something-or-other. that's right, sarah palin is now a fox news commentator/contributor... who knows what else.
this would be quite funny if so many other ..., no i'm going to say it, stupid people didn't get their news from this reliable source.
now i can't wait until someone interviews a group of people from ohio.
2009/12/16 09:44
i heard this today and thought it was quite astute.
pray on it, like we're preying on you.
oh boy oh boy oh boy

sometimes they don't screw up. i'm very excited.
and an edit: i'm glad it's this guy, sam worthington. he seems perfect for the role. and he's actually not so bad an actor. he's from other such films as avatar, which i can't wait to see, and terminator salvation, which i actually liked. i surprised myself with that one... mind you all of the dialogue was awful, and there were some parts of the plot where i was scratching my head, but i actually liked it.
so take that.

in their never ending quest to ruin everything they get their hands on, hollywood, namely warner bros., has set their unimaginately feeble sights on jonas hex. and just in case you thought it was going to actaully be a good movie, they placed hollywood's new answer to vapidity, megan fox, into it.
i loathe the total lack of creativity in popular media.
devil's in the details

watched g.i. joe: the rise of cobra last night. i was ready to write a massive diatribe about everything that i hated about that movie, but realized it's already taken up too much of my precious time.
2009/10/31 14:12
and it really just gets better. hopefully it'll get so good, that it gets better.
dr's appointments just don't come quick enough.
like organizing a box full of snakes
2009/09/22 09:00
which isn't that difficult once they're put into containers.
we went to the canadian reptile breeder's show on sunday. i just like looking around for a lovely snake that i could potentially take into my collection of one. we walked away with 6.
this is copying and pasting from dia...
He fell in love with the breeding pair of '09 albinos who are carrying the recessive gene for the leopard pattern. They're beautiful - both from Tom Burke's lipstick line albinos.
I picked up a female who's a high red leopard, carrying the albino gene. [A bit like this lady] With this combined purchase, the breeders added two female and one male who are all carrying both of the desired recessive genes.
1.1 albino het leopard
0.1 leopard het albino
1.2 double het albino leopard
the "he" being me and the "i" being dia. if you want links to some of the above mentioned nouns, go to dia's page.
we can't start breeding them for 2 years, which gives me lots of time to learn all about it. so damn gorgeous... when i actually get a camera, i'll take photos.

finally got around to seeing district 9 the other day. what an amazing social commentary. loved every minute of it. and how can you not have any fun when there are nigerians involved?
also saw 9
yesterday. not sure who the audience the movie is supposed to attract, but i'm sure it's not really adults. at least the story doesn't suggest as much. which is a shame, because as i was watching it, i was blown away at the amazing, and intricate, detail that was put into everything, and then realized that it was probably all wasted on an age bracket that just won't appreciate the excessive detail that went into some scenes.
i guess that can be said for a LOT of movies, whether detail or story.
speaking of, can't believe some of the movies they're playing at midnight madness this year. any movie with that vapid twit megan fox should instantly be banned. besides, how many more cash-cow vampire movies do we need? let's jump on the bandwagon already.

misanthrope. that's the word i've been looking for.
beers, steers and queers
2009/08/06 02:27
went to go see a close friend tonight. years ago she worked at an "alternative" bar. they wanted movies that would shock the patrons. she told me to bring in something special. i brought in cannibal holocaust. i was never asked to bring in anything again.
i really thought i was starting "light".
if i could find the word that describes how much i hate humanity, i would use it

i just saw another article about michael jackson. how long ago did he die? was he even *IN* the news for anything, other than child molestation accusations for the past... well, enough years i don't remember.
yet walter cronkite, considered, "...a paragon of integrity...," is long gone and forgotten. what did he get, an hour long memorial somewhere on some t.v. station?
i loathe.

it all kind of happened when a motherless child was struck down by 50,000 ustoppable watts.
it was then that abraham lincoln and the minataur took on the amazing kreskin and a witchdoctor. it was pretty cataclysmic, but in the end they just had to let a poor man be; he was just too busy sleestak lightning and freakonomics.
i have no idea what "algo ha cambiado" means.
and i'm so excited, because i already have my tickets.

it's pretty amazing what can happen in 2 years. sometimes i'm blown away at the changes people make. kudos.

in montreal.
one of the great things about coming to these kinds of festivals, you're bound to run into someone you know. people i had met 9 years ago at some show in boston, or miami, and multiple people from toronto and some from across the pond. this is a bit of a small-ish movement, so you're bound to recognize some people.
